Why hike the AT?
In late 1973 I spent one of the most miserable nights of my life patrolling the cold woods of North Georgia just east of Springer Mountain. I have since read that while a freezing cold and wet winter night might be memorable, running from lightening bolts might be far more memorable - and hair-raising! I aim to see if that is true!
